BBC One Show

I recently presented an item on the BBC One Show, watched by five million viewers in the UK. We visited Bourn Hall in Cambridgeshire set up by Bob Edwards and Patrick Steptoe as the first IVF Clinic after I was born.

There I met with Grace MacDonald, mother of the second IVF baby and a great friend of my family; Kate Elder who showed me some of the equipment from when I was born and some families going through IVF.

I also had the chance to catch up with Bob Edwards’ daughter. Main event of the piece was unveiling a plaque to Jean Purdy – the world’s first IVF nurse, who “babysat” me when I was just some cells in a dish!
