New book launched about my origins!

In January 1979, Robert Edwards and Patrick Steptoe delivered a lecture detailing the ten-year clinical and scientific research programme that led to my birth.

A new book Presenting the First Test-Tube Baby: The Edwards and Steptoe Lecture of 1979 provides both a full annotated transcript of the lecture as well as recorded reminiscences from those who attended, detailing the contemporary understandings of the event. 

The hard work was done by authors Fiona Kisby Littleton, Susan Bewley and James Owen Drife and I was pleased to write the foreword. It was great to meet up with old friends, including Grace MacDonald, who was a good friend of my mum and her son, Alastair, the second ever IVF baby at the book launch at Bourn Hall, Cambridge.
